미국 비밀경호국(U.S. Secret Service·USSS)은 2일 X 계정에 올린 글에서 바이낸스(Binance)의 60억달러(약 8조100억원) 이상 규모 가상자산 도난 사건을 계속 수사하고 있다고 밝혔다. 비밀경호국은 사건 발생 수 분 만에 업계 파트너들과 협력해 탈취 자산의 상당 부분을 특정하고 동결했다고 밝혔다.
비밀경호국은 미 연방수사국(FBI), 미 국세청 범죄수사부(IRS-CI), 워싱턴DC 연방검찰청(U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia), 미 캘리포니아 중부 연방검찰청(U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California)과 공조하고 있다고 밝혔다. 미 법무부 컴퓨터범죄·지식재산권과(Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section)와 미 법무부 국가안보국(National Security Division)도 수사에 참여하고 있다고 전했다.
